Story is the Owner and Head Roaster at Saluda River. His passion for good coffee and love of the roasting process developed when he lived on the West Coast. Between his time in Seattle and San Francisco he was exposed to various, local companies that inspired him to return to his home town and start Saluda River. When he’s not roasting, Story loves to take time to mountain bike at his favorite spots like Issaqueena Trail and Dupont State Forest. If he’s not there you can find him at the dog bar with his giant dog, Poe-boy. How does Story take his coffee you may ask? Always black and preferably the Latin America Blend via french press.
Sarah is the Assistant Roaster and Head of Operations at Saluda River. Sarah met Story at Clemson University, and they have been buds ever since. She has been with the company for a year and a half and has quickly become an invaluable part of what keeps the team going. Basically, if you need to know something, you should probably ask Sarah. She and her husband, Daniel, moved to the Upstate in 2012 and now have a two-year-old son with another on the way! Sarah and her family love spending their weekends on trips to Asheville, and grilling out with friends. Her cup of choice is the Colombia via pour over.
